N. Macedonia's UNI Banka net profit down 35% y/y in Q1

SKOPJE (N. Macedonia), April 29 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's UNI Banka [MSE:UNI] said that its net profit went down 35% on the year to 85.9 million denars ($1.5 million/1.4 million euro) in the first quarter of 2024.

UNI Banka's net interest income increased by 8.2% year-on-year to 299.4 million denars, while net fee and commission income fell by 7.9% to 67.3 million denars, the bank said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse on Friday.

The lender's assets decreased to 26.8 billion denars at the end of March from 28.1 billion denars at the end of 2023.

Loans and advances to customers other than banks dropped to 17 billion denars at the end of March from 17.4 billion denars at the end of last year, while deposits from such customers stood at 21.1 billion denars, down from 21.3 billion denars.

The bank's shares traded at an average price of 7,205 denars on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on Friday, latest bourse data shows.
