India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 1:00 p.m. IST

STOCKS:

The benchmark BSE Sensex SENSEX rose 696.22 points, or 0.94%, to 74,426.38, while the broader NSE index NIFTY gained 150 points, or 0.67%, to 22,569.95, as post-results gains in ICICI Bank and SBI Life Insurance lifted heavyweight financials.

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee USDINR weakened 0.13% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 83.45 per dollar, pressured by dollar demand from foreign banks and weakness in Asian currencies amid concerns that U.S. rate cuts this year will be delayed.

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

The benchmark 10-year bond (IN071833G=CC) was quoted at 99.94 rupees, with the yield was unchanged at 7.1874%, as traders await fresh triggers.

OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:

The one-year overnight index swap rate (INRAMONMI1Y=) was down 1 bp at 6.84%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate (INRSMONMI5Y=) fell 1 bp to 6.54%.

CALL MONEY/REPOS:

India's overnight call money (INROND=) rate was down 5 bps at 6.60%. The overnight TREPS rate (INTREPTOT=TCCL) was at 6.65%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.7038%.
