Pring Special K

Pring Special K

The Pring Special K is an indicator that was developed by Martin Pring to gauge momentum. It can be used to find the direction of the primary trend and to identify its turning points. Sometimes it leads these turning points, sometimes it lags them. It can also be used to time shorter term trades. Pring Special K combines short-term, intermediate and long-term time frames. Its calculation is the summation of 12 simple moving averages, each with its own multiplier, of specific rate of change calculations. Traders can plot trendlines on the indicator to find the turning points. The indicator is best used in combination with other analysis techniques.
