Open interest in bitcoin futures increased by 2.9% in May, while open interest in ethereum futures increased by 5.7%, according to data from The Block Pro. The monthly trading volume of Bitcoin futures decreased by 15.3% to $778.5 billion. In addition, the open interest of CME Bitcoin futures decreased by 8.4% to US$1.85 billion, and the average daily turnover decreased by 30.1% to US$1.22 billion. The monthly trading volume of Ethereum futures decreased by 24.3% to $408 billion. In terms of cryptocurrency options, Bitcoin options open interest decreased by 10.6% in May, while Ethereum options open interest increased by 5.6%. The monthly trading volume of Bitcoin and Ethereum options both fell, with the trading volume of Bitcoin options decreasing by 12% to US$16.8 billion, and the trading volume of Ethereum options decreasing by 8.5% to US$10.7 billion.
