GBP/USD - Trade SetupHi all, I predicted that last move literally to the PIP perfectly, you can check out that post on my page. Im now looking to make my next move. I will break this down in a fast and simple terms as I have already broken this paid down from Top Down Analysis. First 4H CHoCH has been showing taking out the previous swing high. Then then saw a slight pullback with some consolidation before pushing into our TP. Our next two entry setups are a 4HR Discount zone which is my preferred zone after taking that imbalance on both the 1H and the 4H. That mitigation zone looks very strong. We have Identified the new swing range from the 4H view. Id like to see this pullback have some slower price action especially around that 1H Mitigation Block before looking to Buy as we are currently respecting a strong Unmitigated Supply zone. I personally believe this Trend Line will break giving us a lot of institutional volume with buyers Demand. EURUSD Potential Shorts (Technical Analysis)Overall Context: The dollar's been flexing its muscles lately, and EURUSD is feeling the pressure. We saw some crazy gaps when the markets opened on Monday morning – a sign of shaky liquidity, which usually snaps back. But with the trade war rumbling on, who knows? As traders, we've got to stay prepared, expecting a correction but ready with our contingency plans if it doesn't happen. Let's dive in - Technical Outlook: Failure of the previous accumulation cycle - Classic Wyckoff stuff, cycles run their course. A re-distribution is likely on the horizon, especially if the lower timeframes agree with the bigger picture. (Fractally, we need to see the LTF accumulation fail and for distribution to align with the HTF sentiment and cycle). Price has broken to the downside and has created multiple lower highs. Trading below the 200 EMA and has recently tested and bounced of the 50 EMA (at a correlating level of supply) Keep in mind that USDJPY and EURUSD are inversely correlated and are currently in line - While the inverse correlation is a significant factor, it's not the only thing that influences these currency pairs. Interest rates, economic data, and global events can also play a role and we know how that story looks at present so this is just additional confluence for us. Potential Scenarios & Probabilities: Scenario 1 (High Probability) - Price will pull back into the supply and drop from there. Scenario 2 (Medium Probability) - Price will continue to plummet and break structure to the downside. Trading Considerations: If price fills the gap and reaches supply levels above, you should wait for bearish confirmations to get involved. If price drops past the previous low, identify new levels of supply and trade accordingly. (I'll try to post an update if this happens). Final Notes: Strong technical picture but this week has a lot of upcoming economic events (NFP, anyone?). With the Tariffs imposed so close to the NFP release one can only assume there will be a power play by the Trump administration which we may not see coming. Lingrid | EURJPY short from PSYCHOLOGICAL levelThe price perfectly fulfills my last idea. It hit the target. The price broke through the psychological level at 161.000 before pulling back. Overall, FX:EURJPY is in a bearish trend, with the price consistently making lower lows and lower closes. I anticipate that the price may rise to retest the channel boundary, trendline, and resistance before continuing to decline and making lower lows. On the daily timeframe, the price filled the gap and then moved above the previous day's high, which could be a false breakout. Consequently, I expect a decline from this level, followed by a retest of the support. Moreover, Chinese authorities have: → imposed retaliatory tariffs of 15% on US coal and liquefied gas, and 10% tariffs on oil and agricultural machinery; → launched an investigation into Google for potential anti-competitive practices. These recent developments have triggered a spike in volatility for the Chinese yuan against the US dollar. As the USD/CNH chart shows today, the ATR indicator is at its highest level since early November, when Trump celebrated his election victory. On 9 January, in our analysis of the USD/CNH exchange rate, we noted: → the importance of the 7.35 level, which had acted as resistance for several months; → according to Wang Tao, chief economist at UBS China, the yuan may weaken to 7.6 per dollar by the end of 2025 if the Trump administration imposes higher tariffs. Today's technical analysis of the USD/CNH chart shows: → the rate is supported by the lower boundary of an expanded ascending channel (shown in blue); → the 7.35 level continues to act as resistance (as indicated by the red arrow). Thus, at the beginning of February 2025, we may witness the formation of a narrowing triangle (shown by the black lines), and a breakout could lead to a significant trend movement.
