In the United Kingdom, Fiscal Expenditure refers to total public sector spending excluding banks and covers all current and capital spending carried out by the public sector, including depreciation. This is equal to public sector current expenditure (such as the cost of central government's provision of services and grants, payment of social benefits and the payment of the interest on its outstanding debt), plus public sector net investment, plus deprecation.
