The fund is passively managed, offering exposure to markets beyond Canada and the United States. The index comprises large- and mid-cap companies from developed countries such as Europe, Australasia, and the Far East, while excluding North American stocks. The countries leading the index includes Japan, UK, France, Switzerland, and Germany. Notably, the index tends to concentrate heavily on Japan and the UK, with a combined exposure of over 40%, making EAFX inherently leveraged against these countries. The fund may hold index participation units of ETFs or derivatives, including swap agreements, futures contracts, options on futures contracts, forward contracts, options on securities and indices, money market instruments, and reverse repurchase agreements.
