Exchange Based Tokens: Follow the leader

As the name suggests, exchange based tokens are exactly that – crypto tokens that form part of a crypto exchange that has deployed them to oversee functions such as reducing trading fees, adding discounts, and encouraging liquidity. Most often created and initial coin offerings (ICOs), these tokens attract popularity due to the usually sizeable reputations of the exchanges distributing them. Perhaps because of this, many of these tokens have moved away from their utility functions and operate more like equities. However, it is worth remembering that these run the risk of not being worth much outside of their native ecosystem and are often best used as part of an in-depth investment strategy.
