SXUS is an actively managed fund that incorporates thematic investing with ESG factors. It seeks long-term capital growth by selecting international stocks with positive contributions to sustainable economic development and are classified under environmental (efficiency, cleaner energy, water management, environmental services, and sustainable transport) and social (sustainable property & finance, safety, quality of life, knowledge & technology, and health) themes, all of which aligns with four megatrends: population growth, resource constraints, climate change, and aging population. Constituent selection starts with an exclusionary screen which removes firms engaged in industries with negative impact on society or the environment. Companies are then assessed using a fundamental bottom-up approach and various ESG factors. The funds concentrated portfolio typically holds 30 to 50 securities which may include large-, mid and small-caps.
