DUK: the bigger the base, the bigger the spaceA price actioin above 94.00 supports a bullish trend direction. The price action is contained between the 200-day and 200-week simple moving averages. Bullish confirmation for a break above 97.00 (which is the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level as well). The stop-loss price is set at 94.00. The price action is busy developing a base. A base-forming price action typically indicates a period of consolidation in the stock, where the price moves sideways after a decline, suggesting potential stabilisation before a possible upward trend.Longby Peet_Serfontein0

DUK IdeaDuke Energy Corp. (DUK) Duke is a large, regulated U.S. electricity company with a focus on southern states such as Florida and North Carolina. That has served the company well as these states have generally had strong economies with healthy population and economic growth. Duke also recently received a favorable rate agreement with regulators in North Carolina. Like many utility stocks, Duke Energy shares significantly lagged the market in 2023. This came about in large part due to higher interest rates, which lowered the appeal of dividend stocks. With interest rates expected to decline, however, the outlook should be better for the electric utilities in 2024. That's doubly true as Duke is planning to invest $65 billion in capital works between 2023 and 2027 and so a fall in interest rates should save it a considerable amount in terms of debt service.Longby newtheyork111

DUK - AAH! What is happening??The last week has looked horrendous for shares of Duke Energy (DUK) and the same is true for many other utilities. It seems that every day it just gets sold more, and it has ended up down 10% for the week. This is especially severe since utilities are supposed to be one of the most defensive options - typically these stocks see low volatility and low growth. As of now, it appears to be in free fall. What levels can we look to? As you can see on my chart, the $86 level seems obvious and crucial - it has served as significant past support and resistance. What typically happens in these situations is that the share price will go slightly below the key support level and then rebound, so it may be a buying opportunity if it starts stalling out around there. Below that there's an assortment of other strong levels. I also want to mention the $100 level, which is a major psychological level and support. It's probably well past there now at $93, but if it were to rally immediately there's a possibility it retakes that level quickly. For the moment, you can try following the downward trend, but this decline seems more dependent on the broader market index. If that were to end, you can generally expect utilities to rebound. If you feel like buying utilities for the long term, this may be the place to start buying!by roxythetradermageUpdated 2

DUK Long with a resistance at ~97.00I plan a trade at 97,48 just before the resistance zone at ~97.00. in the past, this zone was often confirmed and the course changed the direction there. We also have the 0,382 Fibonacci just in this zone, increasing the probability of a reverse in this area. The stop loss is placed below the resistance with a little bit of buffer to breathe. The take profit is placed below the upcoming trendline which can be a resistance.Longby BenToGoUpdated 0
