United Airlines $UALLet's be honest, United Airlines is well known name throughout the Airline Industry. For decades, they have been well established domestically and foreign. Looking at their balance sheet, a few thing that stood out to me was how astonishing of a COVID hit they've taken. A negative eps of 25.30 is something I would normally run away from without looking back! Surprisingly, their assets have been increasing annually steadily since 2014. Also seems as if pre covid, they had a stable growing total equity which is impressive. Although their operating activities has been hit by the storm, they've seemed to hedge that by managing their investing activities and financing to some degree. Having a recent quarter where they reported a 1.81B FCF increase was a nice piece of new data to pick up on. If i'm being honest, this company looks damaged to me and possibly over valued for where it's in nature of everything that is going on in the world right now. However, there has been some recent news about the White House lifting the international travel ban for airline Nov. 8th. United has the most international traffic ranking 7th amongst airlines globally and 1st within the states. With recent news as of 10/14/21 with them expanded their flight capacity to 10 new flights and 5 new destinations internationally, this is some of the biggest news they've had in a long time! I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out!

There is an impulse wave or leg in the bullish version, XA, and it is a move up. In the bearish this leg is a move down. The retracement leg, AB, should hit right around the .618. This one hit just about on the dot. The final leg, CD should hit right around the .786 of XA.

Follow-up on UAL reversal: triple bottom confirmed todayBearish price action of UAL has been on my radar for a hot minute. Long-term support held in mid-July, followed by a break from the channel. RSI divergence suggested a possible reversal, leading to a second bounce at the long-term support. We now have the third bottom at this ascending support, a bullish signature. We can now see the enclosing triangle and extract a price target of $51-$52. It is crucial that the $44 support remains uncompromised in the coming days to validate the pattern.

Comments: Trying to milk a little more out of this covered call by rolling the short call aspect out a month to November while the implied is >50%. My cost basis in my shares was 46.93 (See Post Below); rolling out the short call reduces that to 45.56 with a max profit potential of the short call strike (48.00) minus my cost basis (45.56) or 2.44 ($244).

A Death Cross print doesn't ALWAYS imply a significant sell-off (see chart), however, chart harmonics seem to be supportive of more down here/soon.

Opening (IRA): UAL October 15th 48/60 Short Call Vertical... for a 1.07 credit.
Comments: I have a September 17th in-the-money 48 short put that I will be assigned on, as I don't see this ripping to 48 by the end of the day. The short call aspect of this spread will cover the stock once I'm assigned, with the buying power attributable to the spread being freed up after assignment of the stock. Because I've attributed the credit received for the 48 to another UAL position (January 47 covered calls), I'm treating this as a new trade for cost basis purposes with the resulting cost basis being the short call strike (48.00) minus the credit received here of 1.07 or 46.93/share.
I ordinarily just wait until assignment, but wanted to do some of my post-opex housekeeping today.
UAL: ABCD upside tradeI like to see ABCD patterns after a double bottom, especially with momentum strengthening.
This move should pan out within a week. If it doesn't, chances are the pattern isn't playing out.

UAL Is Taking Off !!!!Been keeping a close eye on some Airline companies, specifically UAL & DAL. UAL seems like it has already started making its move up and as long as it closes above $50.20, I expect both companies to move strongly upward. Turning point for UAL?Price action ending 19AUG presents an interesting scenario for NASDAQ:UAL . First, there is clear price divergence with RSI, a bullish indication. Today's candle suggests a (crucial) third touch on a dynamic support level in the 43.00 range, suggestive of a possible upward bounce. Finally, today's candle also presents a double bottom against this rising support level, again a bullish indication.
My positions in NASDAQ:UAL have been hammered in recent months, but I'm guessing that eventually the momentum will change direction. Today's candle simply presents one scenario for that change.
