The investment is expected to be mainly for a new plant. India currently has a low EV penetration rate, but the government has an ambitious goal for 30% of new cars in 2030 to be electric. For a company known for creating some earnings drama, the upcoming report on April 23 is expected to be a showstopper. Options trading currently implies an 11% swing in TSLA's share price up or down after the report drops. As a reminder, TSLA fell 12% after its Q4 earnings report was released.
