STI testing down to 3024The STI has been in a range since 080321 between 3024 and 3237 for 5 months now. On a longer term outlook, the long signal on 010321 at 3108 on the monthly charts must break above the range at 3237 to confirm a move to 3406. A break below 3024 will signal a pullback of the STI to 2652. A short signal is now active on the 4hr and the day charts at 3144. STI BUILDS ON THE BREAKOUT, 3406 NEXTAll short, medium and Long term trend time frames of the STI are pointing up after the breakout of 3108 on the monthly Supertrend line. The STI is now on wave 3 of the daily buy signal issued on 041120 at 2506. The current upside target will be at 3188 that coincides with the supertrend break on the weekly charts on 150519 and 3406 on 050218 respectively. STI TRIES TO BREAK 3185As posted in my Blog last week. STIL HOLDS 3024 FOR THE MOMENT (quantstrategic.com.sg) The Daily pivot at 3185 formed a resistance in last week's rebound from 3024. A break and hold above 3185 will turn the supertrend up and allow the STI to reach its 3406 target as posted on the monthly targets. STI MUST HOLD 3024The short signal on the STI issued on 050521 on the day charts is still in play and has hit it's target at 3024 intraday at 1400hrs on the 14052, Friday. 3024 is the weekly pivot support on the weekly charts and if broken, will end the medium uptrend started since 071120. The long term charts are showing exhaustion as price action now trades below the SSSB line on the ichimoku cloud with monthly supports at 2813 (Kijun) and 2613 (Supertrend Pivot). STI RANGES BETWEEN 3160 and 3232A short signal has been issued on the 05 may at 3158 targeting 3024 (weekly pivot). Profit taking at the moment has set a range between 3160 and the upside daily pivot at 3232. STI TARGETS 3406 TO CHALLENGE 10 YEAR RANGEWith all time frames bullish supported by 70% of its major components in a bullish multi time frame uptrends (refer to the STI Matrix), the STI approaches the upper end of its 10 year channel at 3406. The STI has been broadly in a trading range between 2300 to 3400 since 2011 and a break of the lower range of 2300 was tested in the pandemic drop in feb 20 which hit a low of 2203. We now see a test upwards of 3406 which may occur if the uptrend of the STI continues in the medium term. STI ENDS MARCH 2021 BULLISHThe STI establishes a new uptrend on ALL TIME FRAMES after it closed at 3181 with a significant break of its long term downtrend on the monthly Supertrend resistance of 3108. Referring to my STI Matrix table, the stocks that are on multiple time frame UPTRENDS include JMHUSD, UOB, DBS, OCBC, VENTURE, SEMBCORP IND, ST ENG and MAPLETREE COM TR. These are the components providing the tailwind to the STI for the past month. The REITS are building a base led by MAPLETREE COM TR and the banks are very bullish. Property counters like CAPITALAND, CITYDEV and UOL are showing strength.
