Dollar Index (DXY): Is That a Bearish Setup 💲 Hey traders, Dollar index is approaching a key structure. The price formed a descending triangle on that on a daily time frame. Wait for its neckline bearish breakout. It will most likely push the index lower. Daily candle close below 103.4 will confirm the breakout. No doom, gloom or pivot. Just one aliens TA.An alien trader landed on earth and was given a chart of the combined** US indices (futures). Luckily, and not coincidentally, he knew TA. He had never heard of people like J.Powell and J.Cramer, or places like China, Ukraine and Russia. this is what he saw: Bullish: - Broke out 'above' the main diagonal trend (bullish) - Made a Higher High (bullish) - Note that, on a VERY high TF, the Bull market rides on and up (see "Higher Range Frame" box) Neutral - Has arrived at the key POC (neutral) and is sandwiched between zones of lower past volume (LVN's) - The 100MA/400MA was moving towards a "neutral cross" (the midpoint between the MA's is flat and not changing) Bearish In higher time/range frames the index has not made a new swing high. (see "Higher Range Frame" box) NOTES **There are multiple ways to merge ES, NQ and YM, as well as alternative indices like $NYA and Wilshire 5000. The *best* option depends on what it is used for (ex. a sphere is a good model of the earth for the astronomer, but not for the mountain climber). A simple average (ES + NQ + YM)/3 is ruled out because one point has a different value for each index. To address this, each index is weighted so that a 1 point change will imply the same change in $ terms (For weights see www.barchart.com Alternative criterion for weighting include capitalization, number of stocks and beta weighting. DOLLAR INDEX (DXY) FOMC Ahead! What to Look At?💵 Dollar index is approaching a key daily structure support. 103.4 - 103.8 is the zone on focus. Depending on the reaction of the market to that, I see 2 potential scenarios: If the price breaks a resistance of a falling wedge pattern on a daily, a bullish movement will be expected. If the price breaks and closes below a green support though, a bearish movement will be expected. The next bearish move will most likely initiate after a breakout of its horizontal neckline. We need a 4H candle close below 104.87 - 105.05 to confirm the breakout. S&P500 Index (SPY): Your Trading Plan For Today S&P500 Index is trading within an expanding wedge pattern. The price is currently approaching its support. To buy with a confirmation, watch an hourly time frame. I spotted a double bottom pattern there. 4008 - 4011 is its neckline. Wait for its bullish breakout. You need an hourly candle close above to confirm that. Buy aggressively or on a retest. Goals will be 4041 / 4059 If the price sets a new low, the setup will be invalid. Support 1: 103.4 - 103.8 area Support 2: 101.3 - 101.7 area Resistance 1: 104.6 - 105.6 area Resistance 2: 106.8 - 107.2 area Resistance 3: 107.8 - 108.0 area The price broke a very important demand cluster last week, it turned into Resistance 1. Nasdaq-100 Index (US100) 2 Scenarios Explained Us100 index is approaching a peculiar horizontal support. Depending on the reaction of the price to that structure, I see 2 potential scenarios. Bearish If the price breaks and closes below 11480 - 11550 horizontal support on a daily, I will expect a bearish continuation at least to 11200 level. Bullish The price may also respect the underlined green structure. If the price breaks a falling parallel channel to the upside on a 4H, I will expect a pullback to 11650.
