The West Takes Aim at Russian Oil MarketsAs tensions continue to escalate between the West and Russia, a new development has emerged in the ongoing struggle over oil shipments. The West has been using shipping insurance as a tool to put pressure on Russia, but this strategy has had limited success so far. Insurance is only available for shipments valued at less than $60 a barrel, and as it happens, Russian oil already trades just below this cap. As a result, it's not yet clear how much of an impact this will have on oil prices.
But this raises an interesting question: why would the West set the cap at this level? The answer, it seems, is that they've calculated it in such a way that it provides just enough incentive for Putin to keep pumping oil. This is because the West is understandably concerned that Putin might choose to remove Russian oil from the international market, causing prices to rise significantly. And if global oil prices do rise much above where they currently are, the situation could become much more heated.
This is just one example of the complex dance that goes on between petronations and the West. On the one hand, the West has the ability to put pressure on petronations by limiting their access to the global market. But on the other hand, petronations have the power to put significant pressure on the West via energy prices. So it's a delicate balancing act, and it's not always clear who has the upper hand.
But what does this mean for the future? Well, it's difficult to say for certain, but it's clear that the West is trying to find a way to put pressure on Russia without causing a major disruption in the global oil market. And if they're successful, it could have significant implications for the ongoing struggle between the West and Russia.
Of course, there are many other factors at play here, and it's impossible to predict exactly how things will unfold. But one thing is clear: the discussion around this issue is only going to become more heated as global oil prices continue to fluctuate. So it's definitely a topic worth keeping an eye on in the coming months and years.

USOil | New perspective for the week | Follow-up detailA record number of new coronavirus cases in China (the world's highest importer of crude oil) coupled with the inability of the EU to agree on a price cap for Russian oil Crude prices resulted in a plunge in price as the price fell for a third straight week. From a technical standpoint, it is obvious that price action has been caught within a channel ($93.50 and $87.00) in the last couple of months to emphasize the indecision in the market. However, it is worth noting that the lower timeframes reveal that price action has continued to find lower lows and lower highs in the last 3 weeks to signal a possible bearish continuation in the new week but we can not ignore the possibility of a breakout of the bearish trendline to incite a reversal structure.

OIL Homework for two of my students.11.25.22 I talked about oil and natural gas. The main discussion was on oil because door stop and reverse patterns that I want my two students to focus. I want them to battle through this, even if this causes physical injury because of a difference of opinion... because I think this will help them. Even if they are not stopped and reversed Traders, The Dynamics of this market support buyers and sellers... even though they may only trade one side of the market. Remember if there's a good setup for sellers and your long, at least you should get out of your long position. Likewise, short in the market and you're coming to strong buyers, you have to get out of your short position. You cannot forget about one side of the market. I had time to look at Natural Gas which came to a potential support area ....And I gave the potential set up with a scaling strategy.
4k arrives - plan for the holiday stretch - SPX USOIL XLE BTCEverything included in the video, I do think a turn lower is likely on these markets, but without as many market participants as usual we could have whipsaw reactions for a day or two. A sell down on the half day Friday would especially be bearish for Monday as traders who are long and away from trading will be trapped.
Good luck for the rest of the week and happy thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!
USOil | New perspective for the week | Follow-up detailThis is a follow-up video to my previous publication on this commodity where we closed the week with over 1,000pips in profit (see link below for reference purposes).
The price of oil dropped by about 10% during the course of last week trading session and this is likely due to concern about weakened demand in China and further increases to U.S. interest rates. From a technical standpoint, we must keep our expectation open for the week as the tendency of price going either way becomes stronger as the weeks go by. The breakdown of the key level at the $85 level is a strong bearish and we are not sure if a retest of this structure will happen before another phase of decline in price.
